The current line-up of Atomic Kitten consists of Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton. Both are frequent performers at big concerts with bands from the 1990s and always bring those light, carefree years emotionally alive with their beautiful music. So it is still a good idea to book the band for a concert. Because songs like “Whole Again” still seduce you to dream.
Atomic Kitten Biography
The British girl band Atomic Kitten was originally formed in Liverpool in 1998. Andy McCluskey and Stuart Kershaw, both members of the successful band OMD, were responsible for putting the band together.
The beginnings
The first line-up of Atomic Kitten consisted of Liz McClarnon, Kerry Katona and Heidi Range. However, Heidi Range left the band in the early stages and was replaced by Natasha Hamilton. In this new combination, the trio produced the first album “Right Now”.
The first song of the same name, “Right Now”, reached number 10 in the British single charts in 1999. The second single “See Ya” even made it to No. 6. The first successes were not only in Great Britain, but also in Asia, where they went on their first big live tour.
Atomic Kitten’s breakthrough
The big breakthrough for Atomic Kitten came in 2001 with the release of the single “Whole Again”. The song climbs into the Top Ten of the singles charts worldwide in a very short time and several times even to No. 1, such as in Great Britain, Germany and Austria. This single alone sold over 1.7 million copies and received numerous awards such as double platinum in the UK and platinum in Germany. It should be noted that there are two versions of this single. This is because Kerry Katona had to leave the band at short notice due to her pregnancy and was replaced by Jenny Frost.
This does not change the success of Atomic Kitten. The next single, “Eternal Flame”, a cover of the Bangles’ old hit, climbed into the top ten of the singles charts worldwide and reached number one again in the UK.
The second album
The eagerly awaited release of the second album “Feels So Good” in 2002 and the first new singles build on the success of the predecessors. The debut album “Right Now” is a huge success with double platinum and number 1 in the album charts in the UK. The second album “Feels So Good” is also double platinum and number 1 in the album charts. With so much charisma, it’s no wonder that Atomic Kitten – booking and artist information is still providing up-to-date concerts today. The fans are loyal and do not forget their favourites.
Atomic Kitten’s next hits came from the second album. First, the single “It’s OK!”, which again reaches top ten positions in the singles charts worldwide. The second single “The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling)”, a cover of The Paragons from the 1960s, is the next big hit. The second single “The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling)”, a cover of The Paragons from the 1960s, is the next big hit.
In their home country Great Britain, more singles land in the Top Ten of the singles charts. It is wonderful pop songs like “The Last Goodbye”, “Be With You/ Ladies Night” and “Love Doesn’t Have To Hurt” that make these girls British pop music icons.
The end of phase one
The third album “Ladies Night” from 2003 has another worldwide top ten hit with “If You Come To Me”. This marks the end of the first phase of success. In 2004 Atomic Kitten broke up for the time being. In 2012, however, the girls got back together and have been performing more frequently ever since.
Atomic Kitten – The Reunion
In 2013, it was the TV documentary “The Big Reunion” that brought Atomic Kitten back together. Several times Liz McClarnon, Kerry Katona and Natasha Hamilton perform together again. In 2017, Kerry Katona ended her involvement in the band.
The current line-up thus still consists of Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton. Both of them are often featured on big concerts with bands from the 1990s and always bring those light, carefree years emotionally alive with their beautiful music. So it’s still a good idea to book the band for a concert via Atomic Kitten – Booking and Artist Information. Because songs like “Whole Again” still seduce you to dream.
Private insights and other career moves
