“Cold as Ice”, “I Want to Know What Love Is”, “Urgent”, “Jukebox Hero” – everyone knows these world hits by Foreigner. Foreigner is a British-American rock band. It was founded in New York in 1976 and is still one of the most successful representatives of adult-oriented rock.

Foreigner’s founding members include Lou Gramm (vocals), Ed Gagliardi (bass), Ian McDonald (guitar), Mick Jones (guitar), Dennis Elliot (drums) and Al Greenwood (keyboards). However, in 2003 Lou Gramm suffered a serious brain tumour and bassist Ed Gagliardi died of cancer in 2014 at the age of 62. After several band crises and solo careers, today’s band consists of Kelly Hansen (vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass), Thom Gimbel (acoustic guitar, saxophone, flute), Chris Frazier (drums), Michael Bluestein (keyboard) and original member Mick Jones (guitar).
Foreigner had their greatest success between 1977 and 1988, hitting the mark with their debut album “Foreigner”. The album took off and the band gained listeners. This album included the successful hit “Cold as Ice”.
The next LP, “Double Vision”, was released in 1978 and the third album, “Head Games”, was released the following year. The LP “4” was the band’s breakthrough in Europe. “Jukebox Hero” was the most famous title. Three years later, the album “Agent Provocateur” came out. The most famous song of the band was released on this album: “I Want to Know What Love Is”.

Three years later, the album “Inside Information” came out and Lou Gramm left the band. The band took off again with “Mr. Moonlight”. This was followed by a long break, because the next album was not released until 2009 (“Can’t Slow Down”). Finally, the album “Acoustique” came out in 2011.

In total, the band’s albums have been awarded 4 times silver, 20 times gold and 48 times platinum. Their first album alone sold 5 million copies and stayed in the US charts for 113 weeks.
