Funk and soul music makes for full dance floors at every party. Right at the front are the hits from Hot Chocolate. The British band was founded in 1969 by Errol Brown, Larry Ferguson, Harvey Hinsley, Tony Connor, Patrick Olive and Tony Wilson, and four years later they made their breakthrough and have been an integral part of the party playlists ever since.

Hot Chocolate Biography
The first single release, “Love is Life”, was released in 1969 and immediately made it to number 6 in the UK charts. With the song “Emma” from 1974, the funk & soul band Hot Chocolate then achieved a real world hit. In Germany the song climbed up to the Top 20 and even in the important US-Charts the single was able to place itself, reaching number 8. In their home country England “Emma” received a silver award. This success was even topped by a release from 1975: “You sexy Thing” received a gold record in the United Kingdom as well as in the USA. In both countries the song just missed the pole position in the charts. In Germany the number entered the top ten of the charts. In the course of this, the accompanying album “Hot Chocolate” by the funk & soul band Hot Chocolate also became a sales hit. Further records followed, such as “Man to Man” from 1976, “Every 1’s a Winner” from 1978 and “Mystery” from 1982.
Besides “Emma” and “You sexy Thing” the sextet has numerous other hit singles up their sleeve. These include “Heaven Is in the Back Seat of My Cadillac”, “Are You Getting Enough of What Makes You Happy?” and “I’ll Put You Together Again”. With the song “So You Win Again” from the album “Every 1’s a Winner” the funk & soul band Hot Chocolate even achieved a number 1 success in the UK charts. They made sure that the disco sound prevailed in the 70s and 80s. Until today the popularity of the band is unbroken. In the meantime the band line-up has varied a little. One of the biggest successes was a performance at the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana.
