Künstlervermittlung Tips: Gala & Event Booking
Many thanks to Hans-Eberhard Kothe from EMP ebi media produktions GmbH for the short interview.
I was very pleased to be asked by Ebi Kothe to contribute my tips in the area of artist booking to his article in the Event Partner Magazine. The article can be found on page 33. The corresponding Event Partner Magazin can be ordered here.
The length of the interview or the number of artist placement tips was of course very limited and since there is apparently interest in information in the area of artist booking, artist agency, booking agency, artist booking, star, show, celebrity booking or whatever you want to call it, I decided to make more information available for the area.
2 worlds of Live Entertainment
Because there are 2 live entertainment “worlds” that don’t always seem to be so easy to connect. On the one hand the event area (corporate event, gala, award, trade fair …) and on the other hand the concert or tour area.
I also observe that event planners often operate in the field of tension between the feeling of oversupply of artists and show acts on the one hand, and on the other hand the event planners find themselves confronted with the difficulties of getting the stars they would like to have at the respective event.
It sounds obvious that you have to act very differently in these worlds, but I notice that in live entertainment booking there is hardly any difference in the approach. Apprentices are sent out to get offers and within the framework of pitches the same artists are often requested by various agencies or different artists are requested who have the same management.
There are many things to consider when booking. And to know the market and to observe it continuously is only one of many basic requirements for a professional artist booking.
